Read more > The students and instructors who make up the BATC VEX Robotics team were invited to showcase their skills on Good Things Utah and KSL's The Browser today. First, in all their glory, the BATC team who earned the title of 'National Champions' met head-to-head with Davis High School, World Champions, in a segment all about Robotics. It was fun to see these bright students show off their hard work and abilities. Next, we meet teammates Jeff and Nate Merrill up close as they give away their secret (well, it was a secret) winning strategy. Congratulations to the two teams and we wish you luck in future competitions!

Read more >BATC Fashion Merchandising students present their annual Spring Fashion Show. “Artistic Impression” will be the theme for the fashion show. The show will be held on April 16th and 17th, 7:30 p.m. at Bridgerland Applied Technology College, 1301 North 600 West. Tickets for the show are $5 and will be available in advance at the BATC bookstore or on the nights of the show at the door. Refreshments will be served.

Read more > Our Automated Manufacturing & Robotics program qualified all three of their robots for state this year at the State VEX Tournament held at Utah State this weekend.
Teams 185A and 185D also worked together and won the entire tournament! This means they have qualified for the National and World tournaments!

Read more > BATC honored nine students who participated in their Fire Recruit Candidate Academy last Thursday. The academy is a five-month program that teaches Firefighter I and II, along with Hazmat Awareness and Operations. The students pride themselves as they endure many hours of training to successfully complete the requirements.
Bridgerland Applied Technology College RCA is one of two locations in the state that offers firefighter training in this format. It's a pathway that not only prepares someone who wants to be a career firefighter, but takes them way beyond what is required to obtain firefighter certification.

Read more >Kudos to Nathan Merrill, team captain for BATC’s Skunkworks Robotics Team. Nathan not only took the initiative to go after, but was awarded a $2,300 grant, which will allow two robot teams to participate in either the national or world competitions in March 2015. We look for great things from these bright, industrious, creative leaders of tomorrow. Great job!

UCAT President Robert Brems and BATC Campus President Dr. Richard Maughan congratulated Mindi on a job well done and presented her with a $1,000 check donated by Zion's Bank. We are so proud of Mindi and her accomplishments and can't wait to hear her speak at the upcoming graduation.

Read more >On Friday, November 21, there were 24 cadets who graduated from the Police Academy Program with several hundred attendees, which included police administrators, deputies, and officers from Box Elder, Cache, and Weber counties. We enjoyed the guest speaker, Sidney Groll, Director of Law Enforcement for the Department of Natural Resources, and presentation by the graduates. Eight instructors were recognized for going above and beyond in their teaching capacity.

Read more >The BATC Fashion Merchandising Department just finished their annual Fall Fashion Show. With record breaking attendance for show history at BATC, and an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from the community, models, and students, the show was a complete success! The theme for the show was, “Legends of the Fall”. The students enrolled in the Fashion Merchandising classes were responsible for coordinating the clothing, choreography, music, advertising, and all other elements of the show, which featured clothing from retailers in the Cache Valley Mall, DownEast, and Old Navy.

Read more >During the month of November, the Business Technology Department is excited to be collecting donations of new stuffed animals. The collections will be donated to the North Logan Fire Department. The firemen will give the stuffed animals to children who are victims of domestic violence or whose lives have been changed due to emergency situations. Please donate a new stuffed animal in one of the red boxes distributed throughout the Main Campus, West Campus, or Brigham City Campus by November 21.
