Health Sciences - CNA

BATC’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course is an approved Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) training program. Students learn the basic entry level skills to work as a direct care provider. Students are taught in a simulated lab utilizing demonstrations, practice, and role play. Students will participate in 24 hours of supervised clinical experience at a long-term care facility. Upon completion of the course requirements, the student will be eligible to take the UNAR skills and written exams for state certification as a Nursing Assistant.

INTENSIVE CNA

Do you need to get your CNA certification quickly? We have a course option for you! Complete the CNA curriculum in two weeks. Attendance is mandatory, with no room for absences.

High School Students: M, T, Th: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Adult Students: Mon. - Fri or M, W, F: 8 am - 12 noon OR M-F: 8 am - 12 noon OR Tu, Th: 6pm - 9pm

INTENSIVE CNA: M-F 8-5 pm and weekend clinicals

Special Requirements:

Students must be 18 years or older. Adult students must purchase books and supplies. A non-refundable $50 background check fee is required for clinical experience and must be complete at least 7 days prior to the start of class. AHA Healthcare Provider CPR is a prerequisite for this course. If needed, BATC offers this CPR class. Please see the current class schedule for dates and times.

Outcome statistics are compiled annually based upon Training Outcome surveys conducted with students post-graduation. Data is gathered through coordination with the student, faculty, Student Services Office personnel, and licensing agencies.


Employment Outlook

The health industry offers many employment options for skilled CNAs. Employment opportunities exist in private homes, nursing care centers, hospitals, and with home health agencies. This class is required before application and testing for state certification.
