Description

Individualized, hands-on instruction and high job placement assure students a positive training experience. Learn a variety of skills including brakes, drive train, suspension and steering, HVAC, engines, electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, preventative maintenance and more.

In addition to the diesel curriculum, students are highly encouraged to obtain a CDL license and obtain safety inspection certification while in the program (contact an instructor for details). As requested by the Diesel advisory committee, these additions will give graduates a definite advantage to successfully land the job!

Employment Outlook

The use of diesels in the trucking and construction industries is growing in demand, which fuels the increase in job opportunities. Once the equipment is put into operation, it must be properly maintained for years of extended use. This increase in the use of diesel engines has prompted a demand for highly skilled service and repair technicians. Diesel technicians know the function of each part of the vehicle and use that knowledge to diagnose problems to make adjustments and repairs.
