Special Requirements:Must have documentation of current TB test within the last 12 months. A non-refundable $25 background check fee is required for clinical clearance. Students who have lived outside of Utah within the last five years will be required to do a federal background check costing $50 (will be determined after class begins). |

Volunteer status may be available in local areas for Emergency Medical Technician. Employment is often found through local, state, and out-of-state ambulance services, emergency departments, and private employers for advanced programs. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts full-time, paid EMTs will be needed to replace unpaid volunteers as it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit and retain unpaid volunteers.
