Health Sciences - Medical Assisting

Do you love working with people and having a job that is hands-on? If so, Medical Assisting is for you! Learn to do vital signs, administer injections, perform EKGs, learn phlebotomy skills, and assist with routine and specialty examinations and minor surgical procedures. You will also learn administrative skills including scheduling, insurance, coding, basic accounting, medical office banking, and telephone techniques.

Accreditation: The Utah State Office of Education provides the opportunity for two endorsements: Administrative Medical Assistant and Clinical Medical Assistant. Each endorsement requires the passing of two benchmark tests given by the BATC Assessment Center. After successful completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the AAMA Certification Exam, which is a national exam to qualify those who pass to work in any state with the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
