Description

Students can gain I-CAR Gold Class Points while attending this hands-on program. It is fully Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified in Non Structural Analysis/Damage Repair, Structural Analysis and Damage Repair, Mechanical and Electrical, Plastics and Adhesives, and Painting and Refinishing. This means students are trained on the tasks that the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) believe to be important. Upon completion of the program, a student may register with NATEF and test for ASE certification. ASE requires two years full-time, hands-on working experience prior to receiving certification. Credit may be given for up to six months of the two-year work experience for relevant formal training.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities should be very good for technicians with industry certification and formal training in repair and refinishing. Those without any training will face strong competition. The demand for knowledge of specific technologies, materials, and makes/models of cars should create new job opportunities with an expected growth of 19 percent from 2010 to 2020.
