A little about Mindi:
"From a very early age, I wanted to become a registered nurse, yet, I never could have imagined the journey I would take or what it would mean to me personally until March of 2013 when I delivered a stillborn baby diagnosed with Trisomy 13. This heart-wrenching experience not only forever changed my perspective of life; it transformed my vision of what one incredibly compassionate nurse could accomplish. My nurse throughout this trying ordeal attended to my every need. She answered my questions, took notes on the things I expected, and was always calm and collected. She spent the time I needed instead of hurrying off to the next room and made me feel like I was her only worry. She taught me that being a nurse involves more than just starting IVs, giving medication, and performing numerous other tasks. I learned there is a special quality that nurses need to have to be great...and that quality is compassion. Having experienced her healing touch, I now not only possess the desire to be a nurse, I have the drive to be an exceptional nurse and know that I am very compassionate."
We know that Mindi will be a great nurse and she has proven this with her time at BATC. We congratulate her on the award of Student of the Year and her upcoming graduation!
Mindi will be moving on to the UCAT (Utah College of Applied Technology) Student of the Year competition held January 29, 2015, at a Gala in honor of the eight winners in the State of Utah. The grand prize winner will receive additional prizes, which includes the two-year lease of a new Ford Focus. We wish you the best of luck!
