The four-day expo was comprised of over 1,000 different companies from all over the globe. Attendees were able to take advantage of educational programming, hands-on demonstrations and inspiring competitions as they "found the latest technology and ingredients [that would help them] capitalize on consumer trands and maximize efficiencies" as well as see what it takes to network a bakery at a retail level.
Along with the retail and competitive side of things, IBIE also taught attendees the importance of giving back. MaKell, along with all the other visitors, had the opportunity to show off their skills as they custom-decorated over 1,000 cupcakes that were donated to the local soup kitchen.
These students came back to BATC eager to put what they've learned to work, bringing with them a kneading desire to pinch their way up the bakery food chain.
