The Bridgerland Applied Technology College Foundation (BATCF) met on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, to hear a report from the previous scholarship recipient and to select a new recipient for the fall semester.

May 2016 scholarship recipient, Teresa Scheurich, was not able to attend the meeting on Wednesday so BATC Vice President over Student Services, James White, spoke in her behalf. He stated that Teresa was able to finish her Veterinary Assistant/Pre-Tech education and has since found employment, something she would not have been able to do without the help of the Foundation. Teresa was selected as recipient because she proved her solid work ethic throughout the progam: she maintained high grades in spite of many obstacles, she showed a deep compassion for the animals she worked with, and she had a determination to make a significant contribution to the animal health care field. She did all of this while being a single mother of five children.

A new recipeint has been selected and will be awarded at a later date.

The BATC Foundation Scholarship is given several times a year to students who are highly motivated and are successful in their program of study and have substantial financial need.
