Another BATC Fashion trip for the books! A group of 12 of us from the BATC Fashion Merchandising Program went to New York City this year and we conquered every end of the city from top to bottom! We took in all the usual sights of The Big Apple: the Rockefeller Center, Statue of Liberty Cruise, 911 Memorial, Museum, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Time Square and much more.

We enjoyed a special visit to Mood Designer Fabrics, (which was filled with thousands of bolts of fabric, trim, buttons, leather, beads etc. that you could only dream of); we made custom floral crowns with M & S Schmalberg at their 4th generation headquarters factory in the renowned garment district; and we enjoyed a one-on-one visit with fashion favorite Linda Pagen in her boutique, The Hat Shop.

We made sure there was time to take in beautiful exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Fashion Institute of Technology during the day then filled the evenings with Broadway shows, shopping, and, of course, delicious food. Some of us even woke up at the crack of dawn for the Today Show summer concert series featuring Nick Jonas. What a blast!

One of our favorite highlights from this trip was The Highline, which is an old, raised train line that has been turned into a walking park/garden filled with great homemade food vendors, music, water features, and wood cabanas to lay down on and take in the breathtaking views of the city skyline and Hudson River.

The trip was full of entertainment, miles and miles of walking, subways, beautiful sights, great people, delicious food and of course FASHION!!! You can see more pictures on our BATC Fashion Merchandising Page.
Until next time NYC...
