For over 20 years, the BATC Meat Services has successfully hosted the FFA CED Meat Technology event. This year was no different. The Meat Department was filled with over 100 students from 25 local FFA chapters. The competition consisted of retail cut identification, carcass yield/grade, placings, meat formulation and a written exam.
West Campus held teams from 39 chapters during the Veterinary CDE, each team was judged in five areas: a team presentation, a written exam based on their general knowledge of the curriculum, math skills and identifications of breeds/parasites/equipment, clinical procedures and handling/restraining abilities.
All awards from these events will be given out during a combined event at USU.
