This show, nine BATC Fashion Merchandising students teamed up with local retailers and vendors from throughout Cache Valley to showcase styles and looks that they felt were important to promote and highlight. Each student was assigned a couple of sets (or “trends”) that they were responsible for. Those assignments included visiting and coordinating with the retailers, selecting the outfits for the models, accessorizing the ensemble, screening and selecting music to fit each individual set and then arrange the choreography of how they wanted it to be presented on the runway.

“The point of this project is to educate them and help them have a real life experience on planning an actual promotional event,” said BATC instructor Colette Pulsipher. “That way they can be involved in the planning and organizing, the record keeping, the budgeting, the various advertising elements, the design work, and all of the other elements.”

When all was said and done, the 43 models performed a flawless show, pleasing the fashion-loving audiences. BATC would love to give a BIG “thank you” shout-out to all these local vendors and major retailers who helped support and make this event a huge success: Dahlia Event Planning and Floral Design created a backdrop for the stage, Margaret Gittins from BB Events provided refreshments, Glo Mobile Tan performed spray tans for all models who wanted one, and Kylee Ann Photography took photos during and after the show, of which she provided as a service for all models, students, families and retailers.
