Nearly seventy students and faculty members gathered Tuesday morning for another successful BATC Business Administrative Conference. Students enrolled at both the Logan and Brigham City BATC campuses attended the annual event where they met, mingled, and learned from three very successful, motivating businesspeople from the community.

"This conference taught me three key principles to reflect on so if I ever want to start my own business, I know where to start," Salomon Maldonado said. "The first was entrepreneurship, the second was how customer service can actually make a difference and the third was stress managment, which is helpful for anyone, really."

Business entrepreneur Ron Foster spoke about the benefits of entrepreneurship. He taught the audience about a business's growth phase cycle, helping them understand when it's beneficial to buy, how to own and when to sell a business at your advantage. Foster included experiences of personal struggles and challenges when running his own business which really connected with his audience members.

Next Kristen Seedall, award-winning Century 21 real estate agent, motivated the audience to become extraordinary employees by "making the choice to make a difference".  She left the audience inspired to develop positive attitudes while they build lasting relationships with their clients and add value to the people they come in contact with.

Wrapping up the conference was BATC's own Custom Fit Director, Sterling Petersen. He challenged the students to begin "sitting on the front row of life", encouraging them to take positive chances and stretching themselves outside their comfort zones. Petersen also entwined a message of effective stress management, emphasizing how sometimes taking risks can have positive results which help keep stress levels down.

"I thoroughly enjoyed it,"says student Anna Redden. "Each speaker was very motivating and encouraging, which is always nice."

When asked what her overall take-home message from the conference was, student Brittany Simmons replied, "Sometimes you're going to struggle and times might be hard but you don't have to look at it that way. It can still be a good thing."
