Congratulations to Team Vanguard, a cybersecurity competition team from BATC! Having recently competed against other teams throughout the state of Utah, the team took first place at CyberPatriot VIII – the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition.

Though this was it's first year of competition, Team Vanguard's performance earned them First Place in Utah in the Gold Tier after competing against 491 other national teams in it's tier. The team's score placed as tenth highest in the nation and Vanguard will now move forward into the regional round.

The team was coached by BATC instructors and mentored by Michael Fuller, a security specialist at UK2 Group. Additional details about the CyberPatriot Competition can be found on www.uscyberpatriot.org.

The Information Technology Department at BATC will be holding seminars beginning Summer 2016 to help local high schools and middle schools develop their own CyberPatriot teams.  For more information on these seminars, please contact Trent Stokes, the IT Department Head, at tstokes@batc.edu.
