Tracy Allen, Automated Manufacturing & Robotics Student, was awarded the BATC Student of the Year for 2015. President Chad Campbell, along with the BATC Board Members congratulated Tracy on a job well done and presented her with a $1,000 check. Tracy was also a student speaker at the BATC Graduation Ceremony in December. We are proud of Tracy and her accomplishments.

A little about Tracy:

"Raising a son on my own for the first time, I knew I had to make a drastic change if I didn't want to live paycheck to paycheck for the rest of our lives. I had a lot of work experience from a variety of different types of jobs, so I had a pretty good idea by this point in my life of what I did and did not want to do for the remainder of my working years. When I selected BATC I had researched my options inside and out. After thoughtful consideration of several different programs, I toured the campus and decided that my future would be in Automated Manufacturing and Robotics. Without any real experience or background in this field I knew it was going to be challenging to say the very least but finding a way to work throught those trials and overcome them is the ony way to get there! In April 2015 I was selected for a paid internship at Nucor Steel Corporation in Plymouth, Utah as an automation and electrical maintenance technician. The field training I am receiving there, coupled with my education at BATC has already begun to change mine and my family's lives for the better. I know without a shadow of a doubt that my education at BATC was the key to open endless doors of opportunity and from here forward 'the sky's the limit!' "

We know that Tracy will be successful in this field and she has proven this with her time at BATC. We congratulate her on the award of Student of the Year!

Tracy will be moving on to the UCAT (Utah College of Applied Technology) Student of the Year competition held January 21, 2016, at a Gala in honor of the eight winners in the State of Utah. The grand prize winner will receive additional prizes, which includes the two-year lease of a new Ford Focus. We wish you the best of luck!
