Getting Started:

PRE-ADMISSION CHECKLIST
FIRE1001 (Introduction to Firefighting)

• High School Diploma/GED
• Demonstrate English/ Math competency

NOTE:  ACT or SAT reports and/or college grades may not be older than 10 years, unless a student has completed a degree

• Minimum English competency:
  • Completion of ENG 0990 or higher with a C+ or better
  • SAT English score of 500+ or
  • ACT English/ACT Composite scores of 19+/19+ or
  • ACT English/ACT Reading scores of 19+/19+ or
  • Accuplacer Reading score of 80+ and Accuplacer Writing score of 5+ or
• Minimum Math competency:
  • Accuplacer Math score of 70+ or
  • ACT Mathematics score of 17+ or
  • SAT Mathematics score of 450+ or
  • Completion of MATH 0990 or higher with a C+ or better

PRE-ADMISSION CHECKLIST
FIRE2501 (Recruit Candidate Academy)

• Pass Doctor’s Physical within 6 months of class start – Attach Firefighter Candidate Physical Form Provided
• Provide evidence of health insurance during RCA – Provide Evidence of Insurance
• Copy of EMS Card, EMS Certification, or Waiver Form Provided
• Valid Driver’s License
