Summary: Coordinates patient and driver schedules and transports patients to the facility from discharging facilities or within the community for various healthcare or other needs. Safely operates company vehicles and ensures patient safety during transportation. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Picks up patients who are to be admitted to our facility from discharging facilities. Takes patients to and from appointments within the community in company vehicle. Delivers and picks up paperwork from doctor's offices, delivers lab specimens, picks up facility mail, et cetera. Takes patients to home or to other facilities upon discharge. Safely assists disabled passengers into and out of vehicle. Follows procedure to safely secure passengers' wheelchairs to stabilize wheelchairs during transport. Promotes a cordial and friendly atmosphere by conversing with patients during transport. May run other errands pertaining to patient needs. Makes reminder calls to family members the day before scheduled appointments. Performs daily pre-operational check on company vehicles before operation. Records vehicle mileage when fueling vehicles. Reports usage of transportation to billing manager. May assist with scheduling healthcare visits for residents. Cleans vehicle at the end of each day.
